Xbox One: The wobbly third leg of Microsoft's non-desktop trifecta
With the complete hardware, services, and pricing unveiled for the Xbox One at E3, we now have the totality of Microsoft's "next-generation" consumer-oriented lineup: Windows 8 on the desktop, laptop, and tablet, Windows Phone 8 on the smartphone, and Xbox One in the living room. Where did it all go wrong for Microsoft? Meanwhile, Microsoft's Major Nelson took to a reddit interview and answered some of your burning questions.

New 19-mile-long International Linear Collider will investigate the Higgs boson, dark energy, multiple dimensions
The new 31-kilometer (19.2 mi) International Linear Collider (ILC) is finally ready for construction, according to CERN and the Linear Collider Collaboration. The ILC will initially augment the LHC's attempt to identify and characterize the Higgs boson, but in the future it could investigate new areas such as supersymmetry, dark matter and energy, and superstring theory, significantly advancing our knowledge of the universe.

Quantum invisibility cloak could hide objects from reality
Researchers believe it is possible to create a quantum invisibility cloak. Anything hidden in it would be shielded from reality on a quantum level. Other researchers have created a temporal cloak that can erase digital data from history.

Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 800 sets the standard for mobile computing with faster processing cores and a vastly improved GPU. Qualcomm is finally showing us what this SoC can do, and Ryan will tell you why it's going to knock your smartphone's sock off.

Computerized brain made of GPUs could be the future of artificial intelligence
GPUs may be the key to unlocking the future of AI research, just like the semiconductor kicked off personal computing. A team of researchers believes they have the code to do it.
