Today is Star Trek day at PCMag, which means a fair number of us are going to be researching the future of technology at a theater four blocks from the office. Judging from the trailer, the future will be a utopian world without money populated by attractive people of all races and species constantly running from incredibly violent explosions. BlackBerry's Opening Up, But Is It Too Late?
BlackBerry didn't announce a new handset at its BlackBerry Live conference this week but the company did make a bit of other news: it will be porting its popular multiplatform messaging application to both Android and iOS this summer. It is a great move and shows how BlackBerry could reinvent itself around software and services instead of handsets and tablets. The only problem: it comes about three years too late.
