The PC revolution fueled an extraordinary lift in productivity and made many companies a lot of money, but times are changing. Desktop and laptop sales keep dropping as phone and tablet sales keep rising. This is not a bad thing, at least for consumers. We have more connected devices than ever before and they help us get more done. But suffice to say, it isn't a great time to be "just" a PC vendor. Check out the scary data points on ExtremeTech.

Are Electric Cars Bad for the Environment?
If it is electric, it must be good. As you might expect, that is the general consensus around PCMag. We are a bunch of freaks and geeks that can't wait to get out hand on the next hot gadget, whatever it is. Fortunately our resident green tech guru, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin, is around to remind us that there is sometimes a downside to all our technological wonders. And even electric vehicles may not be all they appear to be.

One Microsoft. Finally.
As anticipated, Steve Ballmer reorganized Microsoft this week. Almost every division in the company was affected by the moves, but there was one overarching strategy: unite the divisions. Despite its incredible success, Microsoft has evolved into one of the most siloed companies in technology. The Windows Phone 8 division often doesn't know what the Windows 8 division is doing.
