Speed is one of the defining benchmarks of almost all technologies. Back when there was a huge difference in performance among PCs, our analysts were dedicated to benchmarking products, determining winners, and helping consumers make smart buying decisions. Since then we've diversified; now we pay as much attention to product design, usability, and overall value as we do pure performance. We've also moved way beyond testing just PCs.
