Boston Marathon Bombing Links May Hide Java-Based Exploits
My social media accounts and email inbox are full of links to stories about the horrific incident in Boston earlier this week. It turns out I should be careful about what links I click on, as cyber-criminals have already started exploiting the tragedy for their own nefarious purposes, security experts told SecurityWatch.

Antivirus Fails 1 in 500 PCs
The latest Microsoft Security Intelligence Report reveals that PC users who lack up-to-date antivirus protection are 5.5 times more likely to get hit with a malware infection than those who correctly install and update such protection. Looked at from a different angle: one in 500 PCs that do have up-to-date protection will get hit by malware regardless. It's a sobering thought.
