Pinterest for Beginners About a year ago, Assistant Features Editor Meredith Popolo told me she wanted to start up a Pinterest account for PCMag. At this point the service was still in beta and seemed to me to be brimming with nothing but decorative cakes, kittens, and wedding dresses. It is mean, overly simplistic, and opens one up to a host of legal liabilities. (It isn't like we are Gizmodo.) Yet, when I heard about Washington State's Attorney General going after T-Mobile's new pricing plan for being anti-consumer even though it is probably the most consumer-friendly plan out there, 'dumb' seems to be one of the nicer words we could have used. Distributed Denial-of-Service attacks flood a company's servers with activity in ways that make it very difficult to isolate the legitimate traffic from the fake traffic. Just What We Don't Need--3D-Printed Guns Can you build a gun with a 3D printer? A loaded question for sure, fraught with mechanical, ethical, and even personal safety issues. But if you put all those issues aside, printing a gun is a great way to gain some YouTube celebrity and get yourself on Glenn Beck's show.
